Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

Hey,

One of my students, Barta, wrote this down and I have never forgotten it.

His words. I posted, i tried, i studied, i did everything right, and nothing happened.

Four months.

Not a slow start. Nothing.

Most people reading this would have stopped at week six. He kept going.

At month seven that same page started making $8,000 a month.

But that is not even the part I want you to notice.

While that was happening he started a second account. That one hit 100,000 followers in 108 days.

Four months of nothing on the first page. Three and a half months to 100,000 on the second.

Same person. Same hours. Same topic area.

So what changed?

Nothing visible. He was not working harder on page two. He was working with four months of information that page one had cost him to get.

Which hooks died. Which ones did not. What his audience actually watched past the first second. What time of day moved anything. What he kept doing out of habit that never once worked.

None of that showed up as followers in month three. All of it showed up as speed in month five.

The first page is expensive. You pay for it in months instead of money.

The second one is cheap because the first one already paid.

So if you are sitting in the quiet part right now, you are not failing. You are paying the invoice.

The only way to waste those months is to quit before you get to spend what they bought you.

A year later Barta was past 540,000 followers across platforms.
