There is an old Buffett line I think about constantly.
Buy a great company at a fair price, not a fair company at a great price.
It is exactly how we look at Instagram pages now.
A few years ago the game was cheap. Ten dollars per thousand followers.
Those deals barely exist anymore. So people give up on buying.
Wrong move. The math just changed shape.
Now we will pay more for a page if three things are true.
The audience is high quality. The age and country are right.
And we can clearly see how to double it fast.
We would rather pay a fair price for a page we know we can grow
than a cheap price for a page that goes nowhere.
A great page that doubles in a month is cheap at almost any price.
A cheap page that sits there is expensive at any price.
That one shift in thinking is worth more than any discount.
Tuesday I am walking through how we read a page before buying it.
